With breathtaking views, the owner envisioned a home offering views from all sides, overlooking the Valley and the stunning countryside beyond.
The project presented significant technical challenges, particularly in the design and installation of the home’s expansive double glazed windows and oversize doors (measuring 3m in height), which were used to optimise views while minimising visual obstructions.
Another major hurdle in this project was achieving a consistent design across every opening while preserving visual integrity.
The use of the Series 704B SlideMASTER™ Sliding Door in various applications made this design vision possible. A corner installation of the Series 704B by the kitchen allows fresh air to fill the house while cooking, simultaneously providing an uninterrupted view outside. The Series 450 Wide Gap Double Glazed CentreGLAZE™ Framing enabled the inclusion of larger IGUs (40mm), essential to maintaining thermal efficiency throughout the home when using such large spans of glass.
The result is a seamless indoor–outdoor experience with exceptional climate control and thermal performance, capable of withstanding the region’s extreme temperature fluctuations from -5°C to over 45°C.
