Architecturally inspired systems for superior style and performance

Ramp House

The clients brief for this 4-bedroom home in Warragul, Victoria, expressed a desire to wrap themselves around the lake. Its unique curved form and aspect offer functional space, unparalleled views and plenty of natural light.

Ramp House derives from the cleverly designed ramp that was constructed to be a main feature of the home. Ramps require space and there was plenty of room for one. A 21metre long curved concrete ramp climbs the home and replaces a staircase. It provides a feel of more space with light from the void spilling into the living area.

Elevate Series 424 Commercial Fix Glazing stands tall at 5200mm x 2600mm with the single pane of glass weighing almost 700kgs. The window showcases a spectacular view of the trees.

With north facing windows, sun exposure is minimised in summer and maximised solar heat gain in the winter. Placement of the windows and doors was critical because the clients wanted to appreciate the view at all times in the day and in all the spaces in the home.
