From the moment you step into this stunning home, you are greeted by the welcoming array of surrounding greenery. The client’s brief was simple: an open feeling with plenty of airflow and a chunky aesthetic. Achieving this meant maximising openings, capturing the view where possible, and infusing the home with the natural breeze.

The builder and site supervisor worked closely together to ensure all windows and doors were engineered to meet wind and energy efficiency requirements. However, the greatest challenge was the powerlines that prevented a crane from being used during construction, requiring a Quattro lifter to be brought in to safely lift and install the glass.

The Series 704B SlideMASTER™ Sliding Doors that feature in the main living area open at each corner to create a seamless indoor-outdoor flow, allowing the covered outdoor deck area to serve as an extension of the living and dining area. These doors were chosen by the client due to the bold, wide panelling which aligned with the client’s design intent. The parents’ retreat on the upper level has large aluminium pivot doors with obscure glass. These open to the ensuite where the fixed windows were glazed in Series 400 Single Glazed CentreGLAZE™ to maximise the view of the overhanging trees. Series 525 LouvreMASTER™ were used throughout the home to enhance airflow and capture the refreshing breeze.

For the colour scheme, the clients selected Colorbond® Monument® in a matt finish to blend with the earthy tones of the Australian bush that surrounds the property.
