Thermally broken and thermally improved curtain wall solutions

Series 168 Curtain wall system is available in 3 types, Thermally Shielded, Thermally Shielded with clip-on aluminium glazing fins and Thermally broken for substantially improved energy efficiency.

The system is 100% Australia designed and manufactured ensuring reduced lead times and availability for commercial projects throughout Australia.

The 200mm wide thermal break incorporated in the thermally broken variant substantially improves energy performance over tradition systems and makes this suite an excellent option for achieving Section J 2019 compliance.

Key Features / Performance Characteristics

  • Series 168 Curtain Wall can be fabricated as a full aluminium system with thermal shielding or thermally broken mullions and transoms to achieve excellent energy efficiency and thermal performance values.
  • Thermally broken system includes a 20mm wide true thermal break to maximise energy efficiency, achieving Uw values of 1.7
  • An aluminium cap protects the thermal break from UV degradation caused by the aggressive Australian sun. The anodised aluminium cap is also an ideal adhesion surface for the silicone weather seal between glass and frame and provides protection from potential hail damage.
  • The system has been designed with minimal machining to reduce labour times and improve efficiency.
  • Male soaker transom has a slight fall on top face to reduce the chance of water ponding. The underside is horizontal, this allows us to square cut the mullions.
  • The female stack sill member has external tubular section for added strength.
  • Mullion is reinforced (thickened) at structural fixing bolt locations.
  • Will accept Sun fin brackets, sun fin brackets don't puncture the mullion weather legs. The mullion thickened at Sun fin bracket fixing locations.
  • The sun fin bracket is thermally isolated from the mullion.
  • Mullion members extruded in T6 alloy for added strength - offering improved Ultimate strength numbers.
  • Co-extruded Santoprene seals thermally shield the frame members to improve overall U values.
  • Will accept insulating glass units (IGU's) up to 32mm thick or use a custom spandrel adaptor reduces glass back to 6mm thick.
  • High Water Resistance. These curtain wall systems have been tested for compliance with relevant Australian Standards achieving a water resistance 1124Pa.
  • Low Air Infiltration.  0.15 litres / sec / sqm at 600Pa static pressure.
  • Low Thermal Transmission Numbers on both Systems. Thermally Shielded has a Uw of 2.4, Thermally Broken has a Uw of 1.7.
  • 100% Australian designed, extruded and manufactured.
